Second Star was established in memory of Peter. Peter was a much wanted and loved baby, we were so excited awaiting his arrival and were devastated when my pregnancy ended shortly before 22 weeks. We named our son Peter after Peter Pan; another special boy that would not grow up. Second Star takes it’s name from the directions to Neverland: “second star to the right, and straight on until morning”.

We were so grateful for the support we received from the bereavement team at the Rosie Hospital at Addenbrookes. They supported us in many ways, including navigating the difficult decisions about how we would say goodbye to our little boy. Second Star is our way of offering a gesture of support to other parents going through the unimaginable pain of baby loss.
