Introducing Wild Clover Flower Company

Second Star is delighted to welcome the Wild Clover Flower Company as a partner florist. Wild Clover was founded by Alli Clover – a second generation florist – who has an unrivaled passion for local, British and Dutch flowers. Alli began honing her craft during the holidays, working with her mum in the workshop and making her first creations from the offcuts she found on the workshop floor.

Fast forward and Alli now runs her own successful florist – sometimes with her mum’s help – where she sources flowers from British and Dutch auctions. The elegant frontage of the Wild Clover Flower Company adorns Ely’s famous Fore Hill and takes deliveries of fresh flowers up to 6 days a week, meaning that Alli’s wonderful creations are always looking their best and most beautiful.

We are thrilled to be working with Alli and her team, and are delighted to expand Second Star’s voucher program into the beautiful city of Ely.

Gin House Flowers joins Second Star voucher program

Second Star is delighted to announce that the wonderful Gin House Flowers in Histon has joined the Second Star voucher program as a parter florist. We are delighted to welcome our first florist outside of Cambridge city center to the program, further extending the choices and convenience available to our parents.

Gin House Flowers was founded and is run by Lucy Hill. Lucy started Gin House Flowers after developing a passion for floristry during her Saturday jobs, and after studying the craft at College, Lucy shunned the family business (Rock n’ Roll no less!) and set up Gin House Flowers on Histon High Street.

Second Star is now a registered charity

We are delighted to announce that Second Star is now a registered charity in England and Wales. The aim of Second Star is to provide items of comfort to families impacted by baby loss. We have lots of plans for what this might mean in the future, but for now what this means is that we provide families with flowers for their baby’s funeral. We know from first hand experience how unimaginably challenging it is trying to organise a funeral for the baby you had been excitedly waiting for. We understand the heartache of having the parenting choices you thought were ahead of you taken away, instead you are left with the decisions about how to say goodbye to your little one. These decisions are so important for grieving parents and we hope that Second Star can offer a small gesture of support at this difficult time.

We are a small charity that relies on donations to be able to carry out this work. If you would like to support us, details of how to donate can be found here on our website.
